| Abstract: | Modern Greek literature (both poetry and prose) will be surveyed in translation
from the middle of the nineteenth century to the present. The authors and
their works are examined not only for their individual thematic and stylistic
elements but also within the context of European literary and cultural
movements and history. The course will be writing intensive and
thus a
portion
of the course will focus on elements of writing, specifically writing about
literature, and work-shopping papers. |
